The law regarding Weddings in Ireland

 Getting married in Ireland is covered by the Civil Registration act which became law in November 2007,this las states that persons getting married must give at least 3 months notice to a civil registrar.The registrar will require the PPS numbers,birth certs, and passports from the couple.If one or both has been married before the registrar will require a death cert. in the case of a widow, or origional divorce documents  if either has been divorced.The couple willl also have to provide the registrar  with the names and date of birth of both the intended witnesses, as well as details about the wedding such as the date, venue, and the name of the person will will carry out the wedding.
